GABRIEL MARIN
The vision, enthusiasm and drive behind Cricket Romania

An avid cricket lover and at one time a professional basket ball player, Gabriel is passionate about the concept of fair play, sportsmanship, commitment and hard work. He wants cricket to become a key sporting activity in Romania to help develop the character of the youth and the future generation.

Gabriel Marin is the founder and Chief Executive Officer of Omnilogic which he has built and lead until today as one of the most visible success stories in the incumbent Romanian market economy.

He understands that in business as well as in professional sports, that there is no room for ‘second place’. Consequently, his motto and operating value system are based on a platform of performance, honesty and non-compromise.

Ambitiously, he wants to see a Romanian cricket team competing in the ICC One Day Internationals in the next 7 to 10 years: “I’m quite positive that we’ll be able to transform it into reality”. Having said this about the future of Omnilogic soon after its formation, he equally applies this statement to achieving the goals of Cricket Romania.

RANGAM MITRA
A cricketer, ex-banker and trainer

Though Rangam’s Romanian exposure is about the least of all the founding members, he is probably the ‘most experienced’ cricket player in this group. An ex international commercial banker turned management and financial trainer and consultant, Rangam is also a facilitator in these fields. His first love of sport is cricket and is most privileged to have played occasionally with and against some  well known players. His cricketing prowess began as a ‘point fielder’ which is a function in general he only talks about now and avoids most forms of practical application.

ANDREW BEGG
A cricketer, ex-banker, publisher

Andrew has been in and out of corporate life in Romania since the early 90s. A true Aussie, Andrew was earlier a banker and currency trader before settling down to his present job as a publisher of the international magazine – Vivid - he categorises as ‘uncategorisable’. He is a keen cricketer and has captained the Transylvania Cricket Club, Romania’s first formal cricket club, since its inception in 2007.
