Cricket Romania in conjunction with Banat Lions Cricket Club, launched the Kwik Cricket Programme in schools in Timisoara on 8th December under the guidance of the Inspector for Schools and the Inspector of Sports for Times County.

The opening event took place at ³Arena Viola² which was attended by well over 50 children from schools in Timisoara and Germata. A professional Level 2 coach from England ­ Ben Cook ­ conducted the initial practice sessions and matches that followed.

It is intended to make (Kwik) cricket a part of the regular sporting curricular in the schools culminating annually in inter school matches at city, national and regional level.
