Romania’s Female National Cricket Team

Romania’s first female national cricket team debuted last weekend against Malta in a bilateral international series. These were official international matches and were recognized by the international federation (ICC). This was a huge achievement for the Romanian Cricket Federation and the Malta Cricket Association and would not have been possible without the support of Malta Cricket and the ICC. The Romanian national team was made up of 6 players from Moara Vlăsiei, 6 players from Bucharest, and 5 players from Oina, the national sport of Romania. Thank you Federatia Romana De OINA , Acs Galicea Mare, UNEFS, and Acs Râmnicu Sărat Cosmin Balan for all the support in preparing the girls and bringing them for each training. This is just the beginning and we will go upward and forward from here. Hopefully, the same national batch will participate in the 2023 women’s world cup qualifiers,Valetta cup Malta 2023 and this is also the pathway to the Olympics because cricket will hopefully be taken into account for the 2028 Olympics Los Angeles
