Transilvania Cricket Club (TCC) vs Cluj Cricket Club (CCC) – 35 overs, Berceni, Bucuresti

mai 24, 2009

CCC came down to Bucharest to play TCC in what was probably the first of many matches to be played. They won the toss and put TCC into bat. TCC could not bat through their full allotted 35 overs and succumbed to skipper Dushyant’s bowling who posted an impressive rate of 23 runs for 4 wickets; TCC were all out for 116 runs in 32.2 overs. Their top scorer was Yogish for 18.

CCC came into bat with what looked like an achievable target and just before drinks had reached a score of 53 for 2 wickets after 14 overs. With just 3.2 runs an over to get with 20 overs in hand the road ahead looked like a smooth run for CCC. But then Skipper Andrew for TCC brought on Charlie Crocker who in his next 3.5 overs set about demolishing the CCC batting line up with life time best figures of 20 for 7 in 3.5 overs. CCC unfortunately could bat only 10, so their innings ended in 20.5 overs with a total of 92 runs.

(Dates for a rematch are yet to be set)
